Ive just put my latest bear Hal on Ebay. He loves his pumpkins so much I'm keeping them with him when he goes to his new home.

The auction is for 5 days and finnishes on Sunday 23/10/11. I realy enjoyed making Hal. Im looking forward to starting a new bear now :0)

missing leads and thread jointing blues

Hi

Im sorry to say I have to start this blog with a bit of a moan. I am the only person in my house to upload pics from my camera and yet every time I want to do this someone has moved the lead... This usualy only takes about an hour until I eventualy find it but this time I've been looking for 4 days with no luck :0( The suspects, hubby, hannah and jamie each look at me and say " what lead?"

I think this is proof that I need a work room LOL

I have managed to upload a pic via FB of my latest bear Hal.

Hal is 3" tall and was sitting waiting for me to join him together for nearly 3 months, poor thing. But I went back to basics and re read instructions which was very useful. i think I had gotten into bad habbits over the years so it was refreshing to go back and start again.

How Confused am I?

At the age of 45 I can send an email and update my FB and blog, even twitter gets a comment from me every now and again so Im not doing that bad. However, when I decided to have a go at creating my own website instead of using my current "ready templated one" I didn't realise what I was getting myself into lolx

First I wanted to make a Banner using pics of bears I have made. Sounds simple enough I took a nice pic of some bears but....... As for the font and colour and design there is so much choice I cant make my mind up. Back grounds for the website in every colour every pattern, music, video, sparkles, buttons, my head is in a complete spin. Then you can now link every to site to each other using html etc. Oh my, Im so confused I need someone to guide me though it all.

In the meantime I'll carry on making some new bears...

Its all a bit scarey

Well this year is steaming past me and I'm still no nearer sorting out my new website. The problem is I want to make my own web using a free site but Im scared to let go of my old one. Hannah my daughter has prommised to help me with my new designs and the Logo is almost there but I keep holding back.

I currently have 7 commissions to finnish and some new bears in the pipeline so loads to keep me busy. I just need some confidence to give me a big push. Oh and Im also starting a diet tomorrow so very busy and exciting times ahead.

Here in Essex England its been a very rainy day, so much for my week off as it looks like rain all week lol. But on the plus side I've listed 2 of my bears and almost finnished a third.

is a 3" little boy in his rompa suit and a little hat to keep his head warm.

I think I should start to make some Christmas bears soon ( where has this year gone!) prehaps I'll start while on holiday next month ;0)

Waltham Abbey Bear Fair 2011

Had a fab time at the Bear Fair and only £1 to get in and a free cup of tea to boot. It was a small venue but packed full of gorgeous bears!!

My Daughter fell head over hills in love with a bear from "Sew what and Stuff it" called Dexter.

I bought some mini bear fabric which i will use for a new pattern im making, and a beautiful yellow hat which i will make a bear for.

Good morning

Well its not the sunniest Summer Sunday morning but its going to be a good one. Ive finnished a bear which my daughter Hannah has named Audrey.

Audrey is 3 1/2" tall and is wearing a pink hat and matching dress with pink beaded detail on the front and white buttons on the back.

Im just getting ready to go to a bear fair in Waltham Abbey which is only about 10 mins drive away. I cant wait to see all the lovely bears ad meet their creators. Alhough I get very tounge tied when i meet the Artists, for me its like meeting your fav film star or musician <3

I'll post later when I get back.

Have lots of bears half made and hope to get these finnished next week. Pinkie my little elephant is just about to finnish on Ebay and Im happy to see she has a new mummy or daddy to go to tomorrow.

There is a bear fair on Sunday 17/07/11 at Waltham Abbey Scouts hall which is just down the road from me so Im really looking forward to seeing lots of beautiful bears.

Hugo and others

Hi

As promised I have taken some pics of the chenille bears.
They were great fun to do

I also finnished Hugo who is 3 1/2" standing and made from Short pile Mohair. His nose is polimer clay and I used a cotter pin joint for his head and thread jointed his arms and legs.

So feeling brave I cut out the pattern for a fluffy orange bunny. She is for my Daughters friends birthday next month.

Im off to find some unusual material for the pads today and sparkley thread for her nose I think :0)

Dont Panic!

Hi

After my Christmas rush Iwas so excited about my new bears for 2011. But 2 weeks ago I started getting terrible pains in my left arm. My shoulder hs been bad for a few months but I just ignored it. Unfortunately I cant ignore my arm, which means at the moment I cant knit or crochet as the pain is so bad :0(

I have to make something or I will go crazy so I dug out some bear patterns and found a little Short pile Mohair and set to work. Sewing is ok in short burst as I can leave my left arm still for most of the time. I also found some chenille sticks that I bought last year and have started making bears with thoes too. Pics to follow tomorrow as I have run out of light.

So I've told myself "Don't Panic" I can still make bears and catch up on reading all thoes bear magazines I've been saving. I'll go to the drs as soon as I can and find out whats going on with me :0)

A New Year

Bearmaking took a bit of a back seat for me last year. But this year Im ready to go lol. I have already started my first little bear and hope to have her finnished later today.

A Fresh Start!

Its been a while since I finnished a bear and I must admit it was getting me down. I even wrote to my website provider to say I was going to quit my site.

Then something truely amazing happend! I was searching through my emails (385!!) after my holiday and came across one from Vic who has one of my bears called Sukie. It was just 4 words that made me smile from ear to ear " I'm a big fan". Those kind comments made me feel so happy I finnished a bear.

His name is Fred and he is 3 1/2" tall and 5 way jointed. I will be putting him up for auction very soon. I hope you like him.

So it just goes to show that you can make a big difference to someone with just a few words...

I finnished a sweet little bear this week at 2.25" tall Elliot is the baby of the Wonderland bears.

Thank heavens for the lighter evenings. This means I can make bears in the evening. This week I have been playing around with photoStudio trying to crop and adjust my photos. This is going well untill I try to save what I've done. Then I find I cant view them!

I will keep going and stay calm but untill then I've always got the untouced version of the picture lol x

Another New bear and a very clever Bichon Frise puppy

Hi

Just finnished another bear called Martha. she is going to a new home with Gladys. Im also getting ready for a big spring clean around the house so martha may be the last for a little while, although I have some bear parts still waiting to be put together :0)

Lily our puppy has learnt to jump onto the sofa and this morning turned on the remote and was sat watching the motor racing ?!!! They told me she was intelegent buy wow who would have thought. She'll be reading the Times next.

A very busy week

Philip Bunny has gone to a new home ( sniff). clutching his carrot I hope his new mummy is pleased with him

Tulip was also finnished this week!

Made from punch thread with a yellow cotton dress and hat with a gem necklace I was very happy to hand her to her new owner yesterday. I made a box with stamped bunnieds and hearts on it but didn't get a chance to take a picture. I gave her some rosey cheeks and a black embroidered nose. I enjoyed making her so much I cant wait to get started on another bear.
Im now on annual leave from work for 10 days yipee. So Im going to have a good sping clean spend time with hubby and the children and CHROCHET to my hearts content. Oh what bliss... HAPPY EASTER Everyone xxxxxxxxx

Peace at Last

Hi

I'm on late shift today so having got the children to school and hubby off to work its just me the puppy the cat and the hamster. I have heaps of housework to do but I need to Finnish a commissioned bunny. So I've made a large mug of coffee and I'm all set. Its so nice to be crocheting again. The only problem is that I'm having so many ideas its hard to concentrate on one thing at a time lol.

Today I put a Philip the Bunny on Ebay. i also finnished Daisy. When I say finnish all she was missing was her hat. I started Daisy in April 08! Well you cant rush some things can you. She did originaly have a hat but it was lost in transit in November 08 when I held a stall at the Audley End Christmas craft fair.

Philip the bunny is here at last! I made his carrot during my lunch break at work and just made it up as I went. Im very pleased with it :0)

I decided he would be a sleepy bunny and made his eyelids a little bit bigger to look like his eyes are just closing.

And now its time to go to work:0( If only I could make bears and bunnies all day! Oh well I can crochet at lunch time.

early mornings and new Bunnies

I got up and an ungodly hour this morning to take hubby to the station. At first I thought of the extra hour I could have had asleep. But then I realised I could finnish my Bunny (as yet no name).

So I've fed the puppy and the cat. Made a large cup of coffee and away I go........

Moving along nicely

Feeling very optomistic about my crafting today. Have had another 2 orders which is great. Im also finding my way around the world of Blogging and trying to tie things together like my Website www.wonderlandbears.co.uk, my face book account and here. Its great fun looking at all the bear sites but I have to be careful as my crafting time is very limited and I could spend hours on the computer instead of crocheting :0)

I've a long way to go but I've made a start with this blog site and Im hoping to make some new friends along the way.

Decision Time

Today I need to decide if I should keep my website www.wonderlandbears.co.uk I've had it for 5 years but I'm not sure I can keep paying for it. So I'm going to research and see if I can sell my bears another way and maybe just beep this blog.

The internet and selling crafts has moved on so very fast the last few years. If anyone can give me some advise I'd be very very grateful.

Now off to the day job :0( but at least its Friday so I can crochet at the weekend.

At Last A new Bear

At long last I have a new bear. Her name is Rosa and she is 2" tall. Made from punch thread Rosa is thread jointed which means she can move her head, arms and legs.

Rosa loves to hide amongst the Roses ( she loves the smell ).
